Faciliate matching of CDM solutions to capability needs (DRIVER+)

  1. Faciliate expressing the practitioners needs and Gaps.
  2. Faciliate the understanding of these needs by owners, so that they can develop and advertise the innovative Solutions resolving them.
  3. Faciliate discovering of the innovative Solutions addressing the needs and Gaps.

Forest fires: fire spatial and temporal patterns (DRMKC)

Management actions and deployment of resources to deter fires are based on where and how fires occur. Understanding what makes an area to be particularly prone to burn or not is not only important for conserving its values and resources but also for preventing that future management actions, particularly in areas were fires accumulate, do not result in increased vulnerability to wildfires.

Forest fires: fire ecology (DRMKC)

Understanding ecosystem's vulnerability and potential to adapt to such changes can help developing proactive and post-fire regeneration strategies.

Forest fires: social aspects (DRMKC)

Understanding how the changes in social and economic characteristics of the population can create conditions of increased fire across the various regions and countries, is a prerequisite to reduce the level of exposure of local communities through better landscape planning.

COLLECTION OF PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK (INEGMA-E²)

In order to have a complete understanding of the way that the manages to create an environment in which the participants reach their objectives, it is necessary to gather their feedback.

Data management: Data collection, data analysis and reporting (INEGMA-E²)

Data managment runs almost throughout the whole cycle, from preparation, to conduct, analysis and reporting, even if evaluators are not heavily involved during the planning phase. It is useful to provide some guidance to evaluators for the content of data collection, usually this is developed in two pillars: of players performance and conduct. There are different methods for data collection: through evaluators input, feedback from participants, recording, possibly input from observers, interviews, debriefs. To decide if and how to use observers for data collection, exercise managers may decide differently based on who the observers are. Info from observers may support evaluators, depending on the design of the exercise.
Mainly raw data, not information, that is available.

Evaluators Assessment (INEGMA-E²)

Evaluators should be from a correct field/have to have expertise in the specific area. If an evaluator of a process is needed, then a generalistic approach would work. Evaluators of evaluators to have skills in management and processes. Activities from organisational work are needed as well as understanding of processes.

Information for exercise preparation (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH.)

In everyday life first responders have access to information about the they are going to encounter at the incident site in order to be able to prepare mentally but also select their equipment accordingly. In providing this kind of information is imperative, too.
