As a professional officer he graduated at the Military Academy for military leadership and CBRN Defense.

For more than ten years he served in several management functions for the Austrian Armed Forces and took part in numerous national and international assistance interventions and disaster operations. Furthermore, Christian Resch accomplished numerous assignments in international disaster management within the framework of the United Nations and the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Through his participation on research projects of the Austrian Armed Forces he followed the offer of the Federal Ministry of Defence, where he now works as research and development manager in the science, research and development division to further development CBRNE Defence capabilities.

Mr. Resch found his way back to science and research also via the Chair for Thermal Processing Technology at the University of Leoben, where he studied Process and Plant Safety and is currently completing his PhD, addressing performance parameters in emergency management of major accident hazard sites.

He is founding member of the first volunteer fire department at Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences at Graz University of Technology.

In his function as DCNA managing director he is responsible for the management of the coordinating offices and the implementation of the strategic goals of DCNA.
