The State Fire Service, supervised by the Minister of Interior and Administration, is a leading rescue organization in Poland, based on a service of ca. 30 000 professional firefighters.

The State Fire Service of Poland comprises variety of activities, starting from and recognition of hazards, through education, research and development, up to responding to daily emergencies and disasters (fighting fires and other threats, providing chemical and ecological rescue, technical rescue, rope rescue, water and diving rescue, urban search & rescue, first medical aid).

We are also managers and core part of the National Firefighting and Rescue System (KSRG) – the network of professional and voluntary fire services and other supporting entities, cooperating together at scenes of emergencies.

The Chief Commandant of the State Fire Service, being the Chief of the National Civil Defence acts also as the Director General for Civil Protection.
