A web-based software to estimate the energy expenditure and energy system contributions during the exercise using the measurement of oxygen uptake and the blood lactate accumulation

GEDAE-LaB allows the determination of the contribution of each energy system using oxygen uptake measurement during and post exercise and blood or plasma lactate accumulation. It is a free software, intentioned to facilitate analysis of energetic profile during exercise. It is possible that GEDAE-LaB serves a larger number of professionals by precisely calculating energy profile during exercise, expressing results using different metric units. The convenience of this method is especially important because the increase of knowledge with regard to energy systems contributions during real life situations might provide a greater effectiveness of training strategies to improve both health and athletic performance.

Supported Use Cases

Effects on body and health

This software can be used for studying the effects of working as a member of operating forces on both body and health. Especially paramedics, police officers and firemen experience a lot of physical stress in their working life. To ensure their physical health in order to enable them to contribute to their work in saving and helping people for as long as possible it is necessary to gain knowledge about the effects of that physical stress on their bodies and health. This might lead to a greater effectiveness of training strategies to improve both health and performance in emergency situations.
